From the picturesque vineyards of the Barossa and Eden Valleys comes the deep crimson, almost black core of Torbrek’s The Struie 2021.
On the nose is lifted aromatics of blackberry and blueberry, along with notes of milk chocolate, mineral and graphite.
The palate is plush, dense and textural with a soft yet concentrated tannins. The full bodied and silky texture is evidence of the plushness of the fruit.
Drink now, but best enjoyed from 2024-2035.
“Sourced from the elevated sites through the Barossa and Eden Valleys, The Struie reflects the cooler side of the region and showcases the subtle nuances that are gained from the Hillside Viticulture” Torbreck Winemakers.
“Lovely ripened blackberries and raspberries. Al dente. Full-bodied yet so refined and focused with crisp acidity and ultra-fine, creamy tannins. Succulent and crunchy but focused and structured. Bright and purposeful. Drink after 2024 but already hard to hold back. Screw cap.” 96 points, JamesSuckling.com
