Another Penfolds red from the Barossa comes this bright crimson red that has all the markers of a Cabernet Sauvignon.
Last tasted in 2017, on the nose comes hints of coriander, lime and grapefruit along with cassis and violet aromas. The palate features flavours of tomato puree, pan jus and cola. Beneath the surface resembles oil, graphite and ironstone with sleek tannins.
Bright in colour, this is a testament to the Penfolds winemaking team. Another red for your home cellar to be enjoyed before 2035.
96 – James Halliday, The Wine Companion
“The bouquet is utterly convincing, as is the genetic expression of cabernet sauvignon on the long, powerful, medium-bodied palate – which brings with it a silver platter of cabernet tannins.”
